Hardwar Downloads, by Mun
This webpage is intended to host all of my utilities and files for
the Hardwar community.
All the stuff I publicly release will be here.
Updated (06/08/2006): Recently I found the PIPEX servers had
corrupted many of these tools. I have restored them all so they should be working
now. If it happens again could someone please email me. My email address is in the
readme of builds_swapper.zip download. Thanks.
Utilities
Police Patch
The Police Patch will fix the police system for Hardwar. There are two versions of the patch, v1 and v2. In v1, I use Police-Force and try to spread the police evenly all over titan. This version has its problems, but it works for U2.04, and betas 3 to 5. From the very start of v2 construction, I tried to go as close as possible to the original plan for police system in Hardwar. I could see the original plan from incomplete sections of police code. v2 manages to fill those incomplete sections up, and add a couple of features that aid long term games. v2 is only for Beta 5 and E0.92 (by Max). v2 will upgrade your Beta 5 to E0.92 if you don't already have it. v2 also has source code included.
police_fix_v1.exe - Works for U2.04, Beta 3,
Beta 4 and Beta 5.
Police fix v2 with
source code v0.5.zip - Works for Beta 5 and E0.92.
Version Switcher
This piece of software is capable of switching from any version of Hardwar
(including F2.0) to any of the patched versions of Hardwar. It will not ask for
any passwords, or bug you with several messages. It is able to switch versions
very quickly and it will even correct the problem with the incorrect 3D
Rendering device, so there is no need to check that each time you change the
version.
Why would you use this over 5 slow, self extracting, mostly password protected,
doesn't do the job properly files? Who knows...

Buildings Swapper
This will allow you to swap any buildings around on the map. All the properties
and ownership etc of the buildings will change and they will take the shape of
the building they are taking over. It's quite fun. You can make custom maps by
simply swapping various buildings. For instance, put all Klamp and Lazarus
buildings in Downtown!

Windows GUI version (I think Wez made this)
Free Disk Space Check Skipping Utility
This utility will skip the free disk space check made in versions
F2.0 and F2.1 of the Hardwar installation. It is useful when you are getting an
error message while installing Hardwar saying you have not enough free disk
space, even though you know you have lots.
diskspace_skip.exe
Opening Video Skipping Utility
Disables the opening video for the following versions of Hardwar:
F2.0, U2.04, U3.00b1, U3.00b2, U3.00b3, U3.00b4, U3.00b5. Specially useful for
people who start up Hardwar frequently, or for those who don't want to have CD1
in the drive when starting Hardwar.
vid_skip.exe
Always Admin
This will give you Admin powers without you having to call yourself
"Admin". Works on new games in all the beta patched versions of the game
(what's the point of using it in non-beta versions? you don't even get the
TI!).
always_admin.exe
Password Changer
Allows the host of a Hardwar online game to change the passwords of
any pilot in the game. It requires the admin to know the current password of
the pilot, and then it allows to change it. This is useful in a scenario where
a pilot knows the password of another pilot, and is causing trouble. Hardwar
does not have a feature to deal with such a scenario, hence this utility.

Hardwar CDs fixer
Hardwar CDs that were originally released on bittorrent had the cds labeled
the wrong way round. You can burn them and just label the CD1 as CD2 and the CD2 as CD1
but if you want the images on your hardrive you need to edit the .cue files and rename
the files. If you wanna make sure you do it right just use this util that will do it for
you.
